The Hyss are a Chicago progressive doom metal band with a lethal name.  They will slither onto the stage of Reggie's Music Joint in Chicago's South Loop this Thursday night, December 11th. With rocking tales of sinister tree men and scientists featured on their third album, Hyss 3-The Hyssening. Singer Pat Kennedy, guitarist Dave Fitzgerald and drummer Mike Scales join me to talk about the reptilian origin of their name, and the whole tree men inspiration.

Ten years before joining his father and becoming part of the heaviest rock band from the Kankakee, Illinois area, Redneck Remedy, John David Daily Jr. introduced himself through the bluesy Southern Rock Band Sixty-Three from the Watseka region of K3. They rocked the roof off Star Bar In Chicago Ridge ten years ago this week.
