Friends and family, we return after a long hiatus to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we take on the most divisive film to land from the juggernaut of a franchise—Chloe Zhao's Eternals. Coming off a history-making Academy Award win, Chloe Zhao presents an all new experience in the Marvel world. With rumors of increased directoral freedom and a massive budget, Zhao looked to accomplish what other Marvel directors had already done, establish a C-list Marvel Title amongst casual audiences. This week, we discuss the style of Eternals in comparison to other MCU films, Zhao's role as an experimental art director vs indie directors, the theology of Eternals, and bad readings. So, hop aboard the Domo and join us as we explore history with Eternals.
