I'll be addressing zoning out and autism shutdowns in this episode. I'll go through the phases of zoning out and explain why it's okay to shut down and zone out. I'll also talk about why stimming—moving—allows us to unwind. I also share with my audience the causes of shutting down or zoning out in people with autism, as well as the triggers for doing so. At last, I describe what parents and individuals with autism spectrum disorders can do in the event of a shutdown.
