This week Julie chats with Dr. Orian Tzadik and Dr. Sennai Habtes about their roles as fisheries researchers within the US Caribbean. Ori works for a major NGO in Puerto Rico, while Sennai works as a Research Assistant Professor for the University of the Virgin Islands. We discuss a wide variety of fisheries issues within the US Caribbean, including using Ecosystem Based Fisheries Management as a framework for decision-making in the region.
The Main Points: Use Fisheries Independent data and The tools are available to manage fisheries sustainably. We just need the will.
