God wants us to be a fragrance of Christ (II Corinthians 2:14-15). That happens as we demonstrate the love of Christ to a dark and suffering world. However, it is possible that through our lack our love we become a noisy gong or clanging cymbal. We are annoying, obnoxious, and repulsive to the world. God is wanting to purge all hypocrisy from us that we may indeed be that fragrant aroma.
