Pure Science : Mystery microbial parasites found lurking in the world’s corals

Corals host a wide variety of microbial organisms and algae inside their bodies in symbiotic relationships to derive energy for reef building. But scientists have now discovered a mystery microbial parasite living inside them which contains chlorophyll to capture sunlight but cannot photosynthesise.
