Dr. Julie Helmus is a second-generation optometrist who took over her mother and father’s practice about 8 years ago. She really did not see herself going into optometry as a profession and thought foreign language would be her future. But, as she looked at the life her parents had, she thought, “That’s not a bad gig,” and made hers too. In this episode we’ll discuss what an OD/CEO role looks like, how to delegate well, and the discomfort of a practice divorce.
If you’d like to contact Dr. Helmus, she can be reached at dr.julie.helmus@helmusoptometry.com
