Butt Out, John Kerry

Fox News caught Secretary of State John Kerry in an unguarded moment yesterday as he derided Israel’s defensive incursion into Gaza as “a helluva pinpoint operation” because it has, inevitably, resulted in some Palestinian casualties.

While the Secretary is to be commended for repeating publicly that Israel has the right to defend itself from Hamas attacks, he has shown himself again to be too sympathetic to the Palestinians to be trusted as an arbiter of Israeli security.

Israel must finish the job in Gaza by destroying the jihadists’ ability to wage war against her people and their communities. Such an outcome is in our vital interest, as well as Israel’s. Allowing Hamas to live to fight another day – which would be the practical result of a cease-fire at this point – is not.
