President Obama has cynically decided to delay until after the November mid-term elections the unpopular amnesty he has in mind for millions of illegal aliens. The transparent reason for doing so is his desire to avoid a political landslide that repudiates those of his political allies left on Capitol Hill.

Reportedly, however, Team Obama is already preparing to print up millions of permanent residency cards. The goal is not only a “path to citizenship” for immense numbers of people currently here illegally – but perhaps for millions more who will be encouraged to come here by the promise of future amnesties

Such presidential lawlessness and abuse of power is now commonplace. This instance, however, is so egregious Mr. Obama feels he must wait until voters can no longer punish him for engaging in it.
