Shariah-Compliant Twitter

Twitter has welcomed in the New Year with a change in its rules reminiscent of Orwellian thought-control. Or at least that practiced by another, non-fictional totalitarian system: the Islamic supremacist program known as shariah. 

Shariah’s adherents demand that no offense be given to them, their religion, deity or prophet. Now, all other things being equal, they are close to ensuring that none will be forthcoming in 140 characters.

Islamists have long sought the worldwide prohibition of “defamation of religions” – meaning theirs. It turns out that, for jihadists, everybody else’s faith is still fair game, including the kind of “defamation” they perpetrate with crucifixions, church-burnings, mass beheadings and stabbings. 

Team Obama and Hillary Clinton have supported efforts to ensure no one’s expression offends Muslims. Before Twitter gets away with enforcing shariah blasphemy restrictions, we better speak up – while we still can.
