Aloha Friends of the art community. February marks our 15th annual Maui Plein Air Painting Invitational. Our theme this year highlights our Hawaiian culture and our special place many call home – Maui. The Art to Heart Gala, on February 21 (6-9 pm) at the Royal Lahaina Resort in Kaanapali showcases 120 original plein air paintings in their 4000 sq. ft. ballroom. Tickets are $175 per person and comes with a $50 art purchase discount. Come and spend time viewing 120 paintings throughout the evening. The evening starts with a Champagne Reception with passed ahi, duck, and shrimp appetizers, complemented with a Ku’ia Estate Chocolate Tasting.
You’ll be able to stroll through this spacious ‘art gallery’ enjoying a glass of champagne or non-alcoholic beverage, while having conversation with the 24 professional plein air painters about their artworks. It will be difficult to NOT take a painting home with you. Guests are asked to select a painting that represents their ‘vote’ for Collectors’ Choice Award, a coveted award recognition for the professional artists.
