The EU Commissioner for Environment, Oceans and Fisheries will hear how Brexit is impacting people working in the fishing industry in Ireland today during his two-day visit here.
Virginijus Sinkevicius is meeting representatives from fishers’ organisations in Killybegs Harbour today.
He’ll also be talking with Charlie McConalogue Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine.
Commissioner Sinkevicius told EU News Radio he ‘fully supports’ Minister McConalogue’s burden sharing initiative which aims to reduce the burden on Ireland from the transfer of fishing quota shares to the UK.
