Burgos was shot and killed this morning at Sunny Isle Shopping Center on St. Croix.  U.S. Attorney Delia L. Smith announced today that all Department of Justice agencies in the U.S. Virgin Islands are collaborating to enforce the January 20, 2025, Executive Order, "Protecting the American People Against Invasion," by prosecuting illegal entrants and strengthening border security efforts. A plane heading to the British Virgin Islands was forced to make an emergency landing at the Cyril E. King airport on St. Thomas, shutting down the runway and closing the airport for hours.
