The EU’s proposed €750 billion Covid recovery fund is a move to shift power from individual EU countries to Brussels. That’s the verdict of Sinn Fein’s Chris MacManus, the MEP for the Midlands North-West constituency.
He was referring to the proposed Next Generation EU initiative that was unveiled by the European Commission president yesterday.
Chris MacManus says the mix of grants and loans will just mean more conditions and rules being imposed on member states by Brussels.
