Steve Jobs, the pioneer of tech giant Apple, once said ‘I’d rather be a pirate than join the navy’.
Still clearly not quite over this summer’s holiday club with its buccaneering theme… Jamie muses on the connection between small, radical movements on the fringes, and the power to effect revolutionary change. Jesus’ metaphors of salt, light, mustard seeds and yeast in the dough seem to underscore that it is the small and humble, rather than the mighty and powerful, that have real power for transformation. Drawing upon Anabaptist theology, Jamie illustrates the dangers of ‘establishment thinking’ and challenges us to rethink our perception of ‘the Holy’.
