Government will scrutinise Mercosur deal “very closely”– McConalogue

The text and details of the Mercosur trade deal will be examined carefully by the government before it decides what position it will take on the agreement. That’s according to Minister Charlie MCCONALOGUE who was speaking in Brussels this morning where he’s attending an Agriculture and Fisheries Council meeting.

His comments follow last Friday’s political agreement that was reached between the EU and the Mercosur countries on a free trade deal.
