The Both/And

Every human being is dynamic and multidimensional. Like a computer, we often have various programs running at the same time. But we usually only track one program at a time, disregarding the "noise" or interruptions that are occurring simultaneously.

In any spiritual practice, especially when you are immersing yourselves into your own relationship with your spirit-self, it's a valuable practice to notice what is occurring that you are conscious of, as well as what's occurring that you may not currently be conscious of.

What's more, it's also important to allow both to exist without negating one or the other. Both/And allows us to say something like, "I'm glad my children are having fun playing outside, and I'm not looking forward to cleaning their clothes afterwards." Or, "I love making as much money as I do at my job, and I don't like all of the stress and frustrations I have to deal with."
