Lack of travels causes people to loose perspective. The other becomes dangerous, a threat we need to keep out. Instead of being interested, curious, and excited to learn from others, we’re afraid of the other. This is a source for separation, ignorance, and hate, a place to blame others for our own problems, an easy target to drop our own problems onto, rather than taking responsibility ourselves.
