Walkerville Uniting Church Sunday Sermons
Religion & Spirituality
Today we continue on our journey through the profound teaching of Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount in the Gospel according to Matthew. Jesus urges us to ask , to seek and to knock with the expectation that we will receive good things from the hand of God. God's goodness is not conditioned by our character or merit. Indeed, everything in the Kingdom of God is beyond our control or manipulation. When God gives he gives freely to those that believe. It really is that simple, but we complicate it with all kinds of preconditions. Faith in God is not the same as faith in self or in your ability to believe. Good wants to give us good things.
