Dean Douglas for a Just Conversation with Amey Victoria Adkins-Jones, Assistant Professor of Theology and African and African Diaspora Studies at Boston College. Dr. Amey is also a member of EDS at Union’s Expanding the Moral Imaginary Through Film cohort. In this conversation, they will discuss Dr. Adkins-Jones’ upcoming monograph project, Immaculate Misconceptions: Black Mariology, Freedom, Fugitivity, a theological account of the rise of the global sex trade. They will also talk about race and film, specifically how Black pain, tragedy, and trauma are depicted in film.
