Hold Accountable the Persecutors - and their Enablers

Next week, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is convening the largest human rights event in State Department history. It is called the Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom. People of faith the world over owe President Donald Trump and his administration a great debt for according such high priority to safeguarding and expanding religious liberty.

 

The Ministerial offers a much-needed opportunity to educate audiences, both foreign and domestic, about the magnitude of the persecution currently afoot globally. Hundreds of millions of people the world-over are being persecuted for their faith, many brutally so. The majority of the persecuted are children, with girls and women being among those most violated.

We must hold accountable those who engage in such crimes against humanity.  And we must do the same to businesses, legislators and lobbyists who strive to protect the perpetrators and are, thereby, enabling them.
