Then fellow mixologist Paul Asbury Seaman turned me on to the track "Franky's Floyd" from "An Evening With Friends" by Ron Boots. The heart of the track is a guitar solo homage to David Gilmore & Pink Floyd. It's fantastic! When I heard it I decided to split the guitar mix in two - one would be louder where the occasional guitar solo would be right at home. The other mix would be a bit more spacey, more ethereal.
So this mix, Cosmic Guitar, is the later style - ambient, atmospheric, cosmic. The timing for this mix is great because two new albums coming in February fit perfectly. They are "Abandoned Spaces" by OdNu + Ümlaut and "Astral Gold" by Dean McPhee. Keep an eye/ear out for them next month.
