Heather Moyse is a 4-time Olympian and 2-time Olympic gold medalist, but she is not your typical Olympian. She didn’t grow up dreaming of going to the Olympics. In fact, she didn’t start taking sports seriously and lifting weights until she was 27 years old when she was suddenly faced with the challenge of learning a new sport and competing in the Olympics five months later.
According to Heather, “This alone demonstrates the fact that no one was ‘born’ to do anything. It is our choices that determine the direction and story of our lives! “
Heather lives by her personal motto, “Believe in the possibilities,” and inspires audiences with her life stories and her life philosophies. From the small Prince Edward Island town of Summerside to the top of the Olympic podium, Heather has been described as Canada’s best-ever all-around female athlete and has accomplished the unlikely not once, not twice, but multiple times by believing in those very possibilities.
She is an engaging speaker who feels that the best part of winning two Olympic gold medals is that they have afforded her a platform from which she can now inspire and empower other people to reach their own potential –her real gold.
In this edition of the TIME with Fred Podcast, Heather shares timely lessons from her Olympic experience, and her latest book, Re-defining Realistic.
