University Hospital Galway has performed the first incisionless surgery in Ireland for a rare condition affecting the oesophagus.

Achalasia causes blockage in the muslces of the lower oesophagus causing difficulty in swallowing.

Surgeons in UHG have undertaken the first incisionless procedure in Ireland for the condition.
