We are now 48 days behind the times (at least I am; I should not presume to speak for you). I sound tired in the introduction, which is not a good omen, but it is probably the truth. "Tell me, when is it better?" asks the first song--when, indeed. There is also a weird kind of survivor's guilt, as I had just read about five would-be radio colleagues perishing in the recent Ghost Ship fire. "In my little way," I say, what I do is for them. So perhaps I didn't offer a strong alternative to the live-television performance of Hairspray, with which I was directly "competing." SORRY. In this time I am trying hard to cling to what I can--maybe even to believe what I can, such as my therapist's observation (on this day) that I am "an adorable geek." Words to live up to, if one must keep living.
