Our politically polarized society pushes us to be divided from those on the other side. Leaders on all sides wield the weapon of divisiveness in seemingly every fight. We’re led to believe that disagreement necessitates division. But Jesus begs to differ. In fact, one of Jesus’ chief worries was that his diverse followers would succumb to these divisive ways of the world. So in today’s sermon, we’ll explore why Jesus was so worried about division, how we can disagree differently, and the difference it makes when we do.
