Ash Carter’s World Tour Showcases Obama’s Disastrous Legacy

The proverbial chickens are coming home to roost and Secretary of Defense Ash Carter keeps smacking into them everywhere he conducts what amounts to a round-the-world damage-control tour.

Each stop seems to showcase the disastrous consequences of President Obama’s “fundamental transformation” of American power.

In Asia last week, Secretary Carter was confronted with proof of China’s malign intentions in the waters of the South China Sea.  Perceiving America in decline, the Chinese are building and fortifying islands from which to project power at our expense and that of our allies and interests.

Then, in Europe yesterday, Carter had to address the consequences of similarly aggressive behavior by Russia in Ukraine.

Unless we restore a posture of “peace through strength,” these toxic “chickens” are but an ominous foretaste of what’s incoming.
