Episode 97: Colton Ramey (BVD MENTALITY) & Jake Gracey (Exodia)

On this episode of March Forth with Mike Bauman, Mike chats with Colton Ramey (BVD MENTALITY) and Jake Gracey (Exodia)!

Based in Florida, BVD MENTALITY melds pop punk & metal together to create songs that are both catchy and heartfelt. Ramey has released numerous singles under the BVD MENTALITY name, including the hit "Forget You." A pop punk anthem featuring Byepolar, the earworm "Forget You" has amassed nearly 180,000 streams on Spotify alone since its October 2022 release.

Gracey is the vocalist for the Des Moine, Iowa deathcore band Exodia. On 5/15/22, Exodia dropped their album titled Mahaska. In February, the band released a music video on Slam Worldwide for their song "Kanker Sisters" off Mahaska, which features Dustin Schultz of Dividing The Masses. The video has amassed nearly 9,000 YouTube views, and even garnered a reaction video from popular heavy music content creator Hardcore Keem.

On 4/1, BVD MENTALITY and Exodia are teaming up for their "Boybands vs. Breakdowns" concert in Adel, Iowa. The Saturday show was designed to bring different music worlds together for fans to enjoy multiple genres on one bill at one show.

In this episode, Colton and Jake talk with Mike about their friendship over the years, memorable shows from back in the day, the popularity of pop punk and heavy music right now, bringing different genres together for the "Boybands vs. Breakdowns" show, and more.
