Each one of us is absolutely unique in all the world which is the reason that there are no two people that perceive things the same way. Perception is highly selective; the brain constantly decides what information is important enough to reach our consciousness. Our perceptions involve not only the five senses; touch, sight, sound, smell, and taste but also includes what is known as proprioception— a set of senses that enable us to detect changes in body position and movement. It is through these sensory experiences that we gain information about the environment around us. Our perceptions influence how we focus on, process, remember, interpret, understand, synthesize, decide about, and act on reality. If you truly think about it, perception is the virtual lens through which each one of us views reality.
On this week’s show, Lisa and Michael explore the immense potential each of us has to enrich our life experiences through conscious perception. There is truth in the old adage that says beauty is in the eye of the beholder and the conscious choice to perceive beauty in even the smallest of things will make any life richer.
We share our thoughts on how to consciously shift awareness to make more conscious choices in an effort to look for the positives and the blessings in all situations; regardless of how challenging they may seem at the time. The ‘Power of Intention’ author Wayne Dyer, made famous the quote by German theoretical physicist and quantum theory originator, Max Planck, “When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” If we can learn change the way we look at things we open up a doorway to co-creating our lives with the power of intention and living in a miraculous world of beauty. It is our choice. Each one of us have the choice to experience wonder and awe in our lives, embracing love, compassion, kindness and gratitude can change the world!
