Kelly Drescher Johnson, M.Div, appeared earlier this year to talk about why she loves her job as a veterinary receptionist. This week she’s back to share some of what she’s learned as a veterinary chaplain—from how to care for team members experiencing grief (let’s make bereavement leave as normal for the loss of a pet as it is for the loss of a close human family member!), why they don’t write “DOA” on the treatment board, and why you don’t have to have the right words to show a devastated client they’re cared for and loved.
