Pure Science : After supernova, hypernova, kilonova, astronomers now observe a micronova

A new kind of stellar explosion called a micronova has been observed on the surface of three different stars, announce European astronomers. These surface explosions are localised to the poles of highly magnetic white dwarfs. ThePrint’s Sandhya Ramesh explains the new findings.
