Society & Culture:Places & Travel
On episode 44, Julie & Art visit Santa Barbara California and journey through some of the city's most popular attractions. We call this episode, Santa Barbara, On The Beaten Path.
Santa Barbara, CaliforniaThe city of Santa Barbara lies about 100 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles. A drive up highway 101, will take you past magnificent ocean views. As you leave the urban landscape of Southern California, you'll find yourself in a coastal oasis, that is referred to as The American Riviera.
Located between the Santa Ynez Mountains and the Pacific Ocean, the city is a popular tourist and resort destination. You can spend days exploring the history and culture found within the city's boundaries.
Five Stops On The Beaten PathListen in as we share our own personal stories of some of Santa Barbara's most popular attractions. On this episode, we take you on a trip through five places that are on the beaten path. If you are a first time visitor to Santa Barbara, plan to do at least one of these items, though you can even squeeze in all five on a weekend visit.
Santa Barbara Mission: The queen of The Missions, offers a historic church, museum, gardens and more.
Santa Barbara Zoo: This 30-acre park is home to 146 species. This small and quaint zoo, is one of our favorites.
State Street: Located in downtown Santa Barbara, a trip to the city is incomplete without a stroll down State Street. You'll find shops, restaurants, and historic architecture located on this historic street. Whether its your first or tenth visit, you're likely to find something of interest here.
Stearns Wharf: Stearns Wharf offers fun recreation, great restaurants and amazing creatures at the Sea Center.
Santa Barbara Restaurants: Offering some of the best food in the United States, there is something for every palette in the city's fantastic restaurants. You'll also find breweries, ice cream parlors, and wine tasting.
