—Here are 3 big things you need to know—
Three— President Donald Trump says his administration will soon release nationwide recommendations on wearing face masks. But a top health adviser on his team strongly cautioned that masks should not lull Americans into a false sense of security that would lead them to abandon social distancing guidelines.
Two— Investors will be paying close attention when the Labor Department releases its March jobs report today, the first since the coronavirus pandemic hit the U.S. in earnest. The new data comes one day after the government reported that first-time unemployment claims doubled to 6.6 million from last week's record-setting 3.3 million
And number one—More than 1.5 million Michigan students will not return to K-12 school buildings the rest of the academic year and instead will learn remotely, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer ordered Thursday. Districts will create distance learning programs, with flexibility on how they do so — whether is is online or with printed materials sent to homes or some other option.
