This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute. This is the year of Americans living dangerously. President Obama has made a practice of unilaterally declaring wars over. He’s learned the hard way in Iraq and Afghanistan it doesn’t work that way, as the enemy gets a vote. That’s especially true when an enemy decides to start a war. Over the weekend, Russian leaders declared that we are in a new Cold War, or even World War III, with them.

President Obama has made a practice of unilaterally declaring wars over. He’s learned the hard way in Iraq and Afghanistan it doesn’t work that way, as the enemy gets a vote.

That’s especially true when an enemy decides to start a war. Over the weekend, Russian leaders declared that we are in a new Cold War, or even World War III, with them.

Unfortunately, that may not be empty rhetoric. During this last year of Mr. Obama’s presidency, bad actors the world- over are taking advantage of his own weakness – and that he’s inflicted on our military and country. That’s putting all of us at risk.

Marco Rubio has correctly observed that we’re worse off than under Jimmy Carter. Now, as then, we must get back to Ronald Reagan’s practice of “peace through strength.”
