Well for those who aren't familiar with the term, it's generally described as an object or device in a movie or a book that serves merely as a trigger for the plot. That's a short simple way of describing it, and needless to say there's lots of potential choices to choose from, all depending on how you choose to exactly define a Macguffin. The three hosts here have some differing ideas on what actually qualifies as one, so there's some healthy debate and a fairly diverse set of choices in the three lists!
