Firstly, sorry for the lack of episodes in May. As usual the transition between Spring and Summer is a busy one. But here is a special episode for the beginning of June. I attended the Festival International de Musique Actuelle de Victoriaville (or FIMAV) a couple of weeks ago. I had been a yearly attendee for almost a decade starting in 1999, but had an extended break after that due to schedule and other competing factors; so this was a wonderful return, and the festival did not disappoint. All the artists in this episode performed at the festival this year... though the track I've included isn't necessarily one from their most current work... and in a couple of cases it may feature an artist that played, but not with the group/ensemble they played with this year.  Rippleganger features Rainer Wiens who played this year in a trio with Malcolm Gladstein and Liu Fang. Ida Toninato was a member of 333 ToutArtBel that played the opening concert celebrating Quebec composer Walter Boudreau. And Trio Riot is Mette Rasmussen - Alto Saxophone. Sam Andreae - Tenor Saxophone, David Meier - Drums --- Mette Rasmussen played in a trio with  Martin Taxt and Toshimaru Nakamura.  Enjoy!
