WELCOME HEART: Living a Legacy Life
Religion & Spirituality:Christianity
When asked, "What makes a successful person?" Steve Burgason barely pauses before saying through his signature chuckle: "Return back to the simplicity of your faith. When Jesus was asked what was the greatest commandment, He could've picked any or all of the 600 commands but all He said was, 'Love God. Love your neighbor.'"
Steve Burgason is a successful person and he would say it's because of his inadequacy that he is successful. "I need wisdom every day, and when I ask God for wisdom, He continues to bring people my way who need His love, encouragement and wisdom as well."
Enjoy today's episode. Be wise. Be successful.
Steve and his latest grandson, Indie, hanging out.
Steve and his wife Anne have raised three adult children who are all married and live in the same wonderful town of Ames, Iowa. They do life together while doing business together, and as Steve says, "It's messy."
Steve played basketball for Iowa State, and befriended my Man-in-Plaid in HS so that he could get an introduction to Mark's sister, Anne. They've been married 42 years. A worthy introduction.
They own several convenience stores, car washes, and their signature business is coffee. Burgies Coffee is now Windmill Coffee and we love visiting in their home for many reasons, but one is the coffee! And also the great fellowship around the fire pit for early morning or late night discussions that center around God, His Word and family. A wise blessing, indeed.
The Donaldson clan in front of their childhood home. Anne Burgason in the white top.
We enjoyed many fireside chats at their home in Iowa this past Fall. We are blessed to be related to such a wise fellow.
Best recipe from Steve is his homemade pancakes.

1 C. flour
