From scoring some of the most beloved Epcot attractions, including Spaceship Earth and Soarin’ Around the World, to 90s-era Disney films like Honey, I Blew Up the Kid and The Rescuers Down Under, composer Bruce Broughton has been a musical fixture in our lives for many decades. He is a 10-time Emmy-Award-winning composer, also nominated for an Academy Award for 1985’s Silverado. On this episode of Notably Disney, Bruce joins Brett Nachman to talk about his work for Disney, including 1993’s Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey and its 1996 sequel Lost in San Francisco. Bruce also shares details on developing the scores behind fondly-remembered theme park attractions, including The Making of Me, Ellen's Energy Adventure, and Golden Dreams.
