Well, I’ve got three other fuckin’ volumes that could appropriately melt your fuckin’ faces off, but for the sake of this intro, I’ll just tell you. Basically, liquid is drum’n’bass, but with more of a focus on melody, generally more chilled out, fewer distorted synths, etc.
Which brings me to the kind of stuff we’ll be hearing this week. Obviously fuckin’ liquid, but also more standard drum’n’bass, bit of drumstep (although I’ve been considering making a full edition of that), but they’ve all got some compelling melody or something that makes them special. As I was telling a dear friend of mine yesterday, I don’t bother including tracks on this podcast unless they’re top tier, like 4.5-5 stars. Anything less and I might add it to my Recent Likes playlist on Spotify or just pass on it altogether. This podcast takes a considerable amount of effort to put together every week, so obviously there’s no point in doing it unless I REALLY feel like sharing some shit I found.
I’m not askin’ for pity or a medal or any shit like that, I’m just lettin’ y’all muthafuckas know that your tender little earholes are in good hands so long as you can hang with some shit you’ve never heard, maybe even some shit for which you haven’t yet found a taste. Like I’ve also said numerous times, even if ya never listen to me and my shit, I hope you make a regular effort to discover new music, movies, books, video games, adventures in general. There’s a lot of fuckin’ shit about life that sucks, but there’s also a lot of fuckin’ beauty. Beauty allllll up in this bitch yo, for real. If you can see past your own cynicism and pessimism for a while, you can find plenty of it on your own with extremely minimal effort.
Any-fuckin’-way, as I said on the last installment, there are a lot of artists on this podcast that I’ve played before. Trying to deepen all our appreciation for their work a couple tracks at a time, ya know? Maybe you’re like me and you can just go through entire artists’ catalogs in a day or two, but I strongly suspect attention spans like that are rare these days. But yeah, the artists from whose catalogs I’ve included more than 1 track are definitely worth some extra amount of attention. Again though, ya need to be able to hang with this music. I usually do that with any genre podcast I make, by the way.
Speaking of my past editions, last week’s No New Theme… Edition had incorrect links posted on the Monday Morning Aural Sex and my personal Double-O pages on Facebook, but Facebook won’t let me fix the motherfuckers, and nobody corrected me. Guess the people who follow me there didn’t notice or care or both. Ah well, life goes on. One last thing, almost all these tracks are new discoveries except for Netsky’s “I See The Future In Your Eyes,” Maduk’s, “Company,” Sub Focus’, “Eclipse,” and ShockOne’s spectacular track called, “A Dark Machine,” the latter two of which I played on the last liquid installment. Heh, liquid installment. Giggity. Anyway, yeah, A Dark Machine is an especially fuckin’ fantastic track and I wanted to hear it again, which means you’re gonna hear it again… whether you like it or not. I KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE, AND I’M GONNA PRY YOUR EARS OPEN AND MAKE YOU LISTEN TO THE AWESOME MUSICKSSSS!!!!
