Top U.S. officials will be visiting Pakistan and India this week. It’s as good a time as any to serve notice that America will be realigning its relations with the two nations.
After all, Pakistan has proven to be unworthy of the “Major Non-NATO Ally” status conferred upon it in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks. It’s not only played a double-game, aiding both us and assorted Sharia-supremacists killing our troops in Afghanistan. These days, Pakistan has been transformed into pretty much a wholly-owned subsidiary – or puppet – of our principal adversary: Communist China.
India, by contrast, has a shared understanding of the threat posed by China and Pakistan, both regionally and beyond. So, while Secretary of State Pompeo and Secretary of Defense Mattis are in New Delhi, they should announce that India has replaced Pakistan as the United States’ major regional ally.
