This week, as UNCTAD releases its Technology and Innovation Report, The Weekly Tradecast talks to the report’s team leader, Clovis Freire, about why it’s so vital for developing countries to embrace green tech.

Around the world, countries are seeking solutions to protect the environment and keep economies growing. For developing countries, the report says, renewable energy and frontier technologies offer opportunities to build important industries and catch up economically while also addressing climate change.

The opportunities are vast, but developing countries need immediate support to gather the tools and skills they need for a sustainable future.
