In 2012 there was a mass shooting at an elementary school in Newtown Connecticut where one shooter killed 26 people, most of whom were children. Just last week the gun manufacturer Remington settled for 73 million dollars with the families and survivors who sued them almost a decade ago. The question is: what responsibility if any falls on manufacturers for the misuse of their products? In this episode, we discuss the practical details of the lawsuit and the ramifications on both gun control and civil suits. We also get into the question of justice: Am I responsible for what you do wrong with what I make? Are there things I need to do or not do to avoid culpability? And so on.
