America’s Constitutional Crisis

We have reached a “constitutional tipping point.” That’s not just the view of politicians, academics and Tea Party activists on the right. Even a prominent left-leaning academic like Jonathon Turley used such language yesterday in testimony before the House Judiciary Committee.

This crisis has arisen as a direct result of President Obama’s efforts to expropriate the role assigned under our Constitution to the Congress.

As Prof. Turley put it: “The President has…exceeded his authority in a way that is creating a destabilizing influence in a three-branch system.” He added, “I am very alarmed by the implications of that aggregation of power.”

In fact, this is just one example of how President Obama’s lawlessness is jeopardizing our Constitution – and why forceful congressional push-back is so urgently needed.
