Episode: 00067
Release Date: August 9, 2021
Description: Our guest this week has over 30 years of law enforcement experience, 26 years of which were spent in an analysis capacity in one way or another -- from a criminal investigative analyst to a geographic profiling analyst to a technology coordinator. Manny San Pedro has been recognized for his immense contribution to both the IACA and IALEIA, serving as the current Technology Director and Vice President of the South Western Ontario Chapter respectively. In this episode, Manny explains how he transitioned from an officer to an analyst, and navigating the cultural changes and workplace dynamics that came with it. Manny also details how he used his geographic profiling knowledge, along with astute observation skills and effective communication, to work closely alongside investigators to solve a case of a child predator. This episode also features insights on the current state of the IACA website and future plans for improvement to ensure the association keeps with one of its critical missions of providing a platform for analysts across the world to share information and resources. Manny is currently the program manager for the Toronto Housing Program, but maintains his involvement in the law enforcement analysis community through continual volunteer work with IACA and IALEIA, as well as being the executive director of MDSP Consulting Services, a training provider in various law enforcement analysis topics.
