Gaywaves interview with Noah Ruiz, the 20 year old transgender man attacked, then arrested as a result of using the restroom he was instructed to use at a SW Ohio campground

Our guest this segment is Noah Ruiz from Oxford, Ohio.  Noah is a 20 year old transgender man.

 

On July 3 while at a campground with his family and girlfriend, Noah was assaulted and beaten up in the restroom because the rules he was following placed him in the wrong bathroom.

 

Preble County Sheriff deputies arrived on the scene, but instead of arresting the assailants, they arrested Noah, who spent the night in the county jail and has been charged with crimes.

 

This event highlights the danger transgender people face doing things like using restrooms, which cisgender people take for granted.
