Most women don’t advance in their careers because of their own limiting assumptions. Often, according to the research, women are far less likely than men to take a shot at a new role or opportunity when they feel they aren’t fully qualified.
Most women assume that their performance will speak for itself, and opportunities will find them rather than seeking them out.
Alison Fragale, a champion for women’s advancement, believes that if women could get out of their own way, we would benefit from seeing more of them in leadership positions.
