WELCOME HEART: Living a Legacy Life
Religion & Spirituality:Christianity
My Heavenly Father has great loves, at least two—you and me. He went to great strides to show the world what He treasures most: a personal relationship with each child. I want to do the same: to love what God loves, to treasure what the Creator treasures, and show it by how I live my life.
The older I grow in Christ, the more I want make our treasures the same, and live like God’s priorities are my priorities. I fail daily. But I’m learning that to succeed at all, I first need to fully embrace how much I am our great God’s treasure
HOW WE KNOW WE ARE GOD’S TREASURE AND WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE?
Shortly before becoming engaged, I knew my husband was the one for me when he looked me in the eyes and said, “There’s nothing more you can be or do to make me love you more.” Granted, he was blinded by love. If we weren’t all a little blinded, no one would ever get married. But his proclamation reminded me of Christ’s love for us, except Jesus does know us. The Savior is not blinded to our weakness and folly, yet still treasures us.
We are loved because God is love by showing it through the gift of Jesus in I Peter 3:18 (ESV) ”For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God...”
If I ever question I am God’s treasure, I only must look at the cross and doubt no more.
Once I know I'm God's treasure, it makes all the difference in how I live. Listen today to hear my list. Would love to know what else comes to your mind when you say: "I'm God's child, and so I live this way..." List in comments below.
Here’s my truest self — yours, too, if you follow Jesus: I am loved I am forgiven I am chosen I am sent I am called I am transformed I am His I am found I am unique I am free (to wear any color!) What difference does it make? All and everything. I am loved unconditionally, so I must love others unconditionally I am forgiven, so I must forgive as God’s forgiven me I am chosen, so I live strong I am sent, so I must go I am called, so I must not stew about my purpose I am transformed, so I must look like Jesus I am His, so I must rest in my belongingness I am found, so I must feel valued I am unique, so I must not compare I am free, so I must listen and obey to use my freedom for His kingdom________________
