Basic Black is a world renowned R&B music group
that was co-founded by multi-platinum grammy
nominated music producers, Kelvin “K.B.” Bradshaw
and Lloyd “Spec” Turner. In the early
beginnings, Basic Black was known as the hottest
band in their hometown of Columbus, Georgia. It
was during that time that music mogul, the
late legendary Gene Griffin (uncle of music producer
Teddy Riley) first saw great potential in the group.
Not too long after his discovery, Basic Black was
chosen to be the professional back up band for one of
Griffin’s and Riley’s R&B groups called Today.
