Amos preached 760 - 753 BC, first to the surrounding nations, and then to Israel in the North It was a time of national optimism in Israel.
Business and national boundaries were expanding. Internally however, greed and injustice were rife and people were increasingly rejecting God’s discipline. Amos, visualizes the coming judgement of God and tries to mobilize the nation towards repentance.
