YOUR PODCAST. YOUR AI ASSISTANT.

What is the Podbean MCP Server?

Podbean MCP Server is Podbean’s official connection between your podcast account and compatible AI assistants. It uses the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to let your AI assistant prepare episode drafts, publish recordings, update your show, and retrieve podcast analytics through conversation.

An MCP-enabled AI assistant is an AI app that can connect to external tools through MCP. Examples include the Claude Desktop App, ChatGPT desktop App, and Cursor, when MCP connections are available and enabled for your account.

Ask for an outcome, such as improving ten episode descriptions or choosing what to record next. Your AI assistant combines your Podbean content and available podcast stats with AI reasoning to draft improvements, explain patterns, and carry out supported tasks.

Optimize your latest 10 episodes for discovery

Optimize the titles and show notes of my latest 10 episodes for SEO and GEO. Use clear topic names, natural keywords, a concise summary, and key takeaways supported by the episode content. Preserve the facts and my tone. Show me the before-and-after copy, then update Podbean after I approve.

A consistent refresh across ten episodes.

Find what your top 5 episodes have in common

Find my 5 most-downloaded episodes over the last 90 complete days. Compare their topics, titles, and show notes. What patterns do they share, and what could I test in my next episode? Show the download counts and distinguish patterns from possible explanations.

Turn a ranking into ideas you can test.

Plan your next 3 episodes from real performance

Review my latest 10 episodes and their available download stats. Identify promising topics, taking release dates and time available to collect downloads into account. Suggest 3 new episode ideas, each with a working title, a fresh angle, and a short outline. Explain the evidence behind each suggestion.

Go from podcast stats to a recording plan.

Turn a recording into a complete episode draft

Prepare this recording with Podbean AI Content Assistant and Audio Optimization. Create a title, show notes, chapters, and a transcript, and improve the sound. Show the estimated AI credits before processing. Save a draft and present it for my review before publishing.

Organize a month of podcast releases

Review my next 4 approved episode drafts and suggest a release order that gives listeners a useful progression. Propose one release every Thursday at 6 a.m., starting next month. Confirm the episode titles, exact dates, and timezone with me, then schedule them after I approve.

Plan and schedule several ready-to-go episodes.

Get a podcast performance briefing

Replace manual report gathering with a briefing.

Give older episodes a second life

Find 3 episodes in my back catalog related to [my next episode topic]. Use their titles and show notes to draft a short newsletter section and a social post for each, including its episode link. Explain why each is worth revisiting. Leave the copy here for me to review and share.

Replace the bracketed topic with your next idea.

Decide where to focus your promotion

Make your podcast’s promise clearer

Authorize access to your show

Sign in on Podbean’s authorization page. You do not need to paste your Podbean password into a chat. The connection grants access to the podcast channel you authorize.

Review AI-prepared drafts

Podbean AI episode preparation produces a draft for review. Check the recording and episode copy, request edits, then explicitly approve publication. Custom agents should preserve this review step.

Use the dashboard when you need it

Keep using Podbean for billing, account administration, creating additional podcast channels, and features beyond the MCP tools. Disconnect from your AI assistant’s connection settings when you no longer need access.

Frequently asked questions

Podbean MCP frequently asked questions

A podcast MCP server connects compatible AI assistants to podcast tools using the Model Context Protocol. Podbean MCP gives your authorized AI assistant access to supported episode publishing, show management, and analytics tasks in your Podbean account.

Yes. Connect Podbean in Claude, authorize your public podcast, and ask Claude to prepare or publish an episode using an existing recording. You can provide the title and description or use Podbean AI to prepare a draft. Follow the Podbean Claude setup guide for the workflow and requirements.

Use a client that supports the remote MCP connection and Podbean authorization flow. Add https://mcp.podbean.com/mcp, connect your Podbean account, and check that the client can retrieve your podcast details. File uploads and available actions depend on the client’s capabilities, permissions, and your Podbean plan.

Yes. In the ChatGPT desktop App, go to Settings → Plugins, open the Add dropdown in the top right, and select Add MCP Server. Enter the Podbean MCP server URL, save the connection, and authorize your podcast. Follow the ChatGPT desktop App setup steps above. Availability and actions depend on your app version, workspace settings, and Podbean plan.

Podbean MCP’s episode workflow starts with an existing audio or video recording. It can help prepare episode copy and publish that recording, but its current tools do not generate a complete audio episode from text. For text-to-audio creation, explore Podbean AI Podcast Creator.

Yes. AI Content Assistant transcribes your recording and prepares suggested titles, descriptions or show notes, chapters, and a transcript. You can review the results before publishing. This processing requires Podbean AI to be enabled and sufficient Podbean AI credits.

Yes. Ask your connected AI assistant to review several episodes, propose improved titles and show notes, and apply approved edits through Podbean MCP. SEO means search engine optimization; GEO means generative engine optimization, or making content easier for AI search systems to understand and use. Start with accurate topic names, clear summaries, and useful takeaways. Better copy can support discovery, but search rankings and AI citations are not guaranteed.

Yes. Podbean MCP supplies available episode information and analytics; your AI assistant uses that information to compare topics and suggest new angles, titles, or outlines. Ask it to state the date range, account for how long each episode has been available, and explain the evidence behind its ideas. Download patterns can guide experiments, but they do not prove why an episode succeeded.

You can schedule an episode for a future publication date and time. Recurring actions, such as a weekly analytics summary, require scheduling or orchestration in your AI client or custom agent. The MCP server provides podcast tools; it is not itself a recurring-task scheduler.

You need an Unlimited Audio plan or above and a public podcast channel. AI Content Assistant and Audio Optimization consume Podbean AI credits. Plans include a credit allowance, and additional credits are available for purchase. Your AI assistant may have separate subscription or usage charges. See current Podbean pricing.

Each authorization gives access to one podcast channel. To work on another show, log out of Podbean in your AI assistant, reconnect, and authorize that channel. Create additional podcast channels through your Podbean account before connecting them.

No. Podbean AI episode preparation creates a draft. Review the output and approve publication when it is ready. Other publishing actions and custom-agent workflows depend on the instructions and permissions you provide; configure custom agents to ask for approval before release.

You can request available download, listener, country, platform, traffic source, and engagement reports. Date ranges and plan requirements vary by report, and today’s data is not yet available. Retention reports cover a subset of listeners in the Podbean app and should be read as a trend reference, not the return rate of your entire audience.

Check your Podbean plan and your AI client’s connection requirements, then reconnect and finish Podbean authorization. If the wrong show appears, log out and authorize the intended channel. For unavailable AI features, check your Podbean AI settings and credit balance. Visit Podbean Support for help.
